Delta has come back to the table with some improved offerings.
Delta Airlines pitched thousands of jobs and more flights as part of their opening offer to the Metropolitan Airports Commission during a hearing Monday.
The proposal includes keeping 10,000 jobs in the Twin Cities as the airline gets ready to open what it calls its Delta-North Headquarters.
While the Atlanta-based airline got a skeptical response from the MAC when it first appeared last week, relations have since warmed.
The 10,000 job guarantee is strong, a good thing. What precisely is meant by “Delta-North Headquarters?” I’ve long maintained the loss of a fortne 500 headquarters is a big deal for the “Minnesota brand,” and it’s certainly not uncommon for large, complex, geographically distributed companies to have multiple headquarters. Let’s hope it’s meaninful.
