Musings and pontifications from a left leaning libertarian

History in New Hampshire

News on the equality front in New Hampshire:

Gov. John Lynch told The Associated Press on Thursday he will sign legislation establishing civil unions in New Hampshire.

New Hampshire thus will become the fourth state to adopt civil unions and the first to do so without first having a court fight over denying gays the right to marry.

The first without court intervention?  I thought that was Connecticut, but I might be wrong.  I’d like to think the AP has its facts straight, but of late there are questions about whether they can walk and chew gum at the same time…

In either event, a step in the direction of doing the right thing isn’t bad.
