Worst domestic policy

What’s the worst domestic policy of the Bush administration? At The Carpetbagger Report, a compelling case is made for the current Medicare prescription roll out.
The program was passed in 2003 under unusual circumstances that included bribes on the House floor. Before lawmakers agreed to the plan, the administration went to great lengths to deceive Congress about the cost estimates for the plan. Once it became law, and seniors started to learn about the new program, everyone was completely confused and couldn’t figure out what to do.
That was then. About two weeks ago, on Jan. 1, the Medicare prescription drug benefit took effect. That’s when the real problems started.
Blunders of epic proportions. And the sickest and poorest among us pay the cost.

From a conversation with a retired friend of mine:
As one a lot closer to the problem than you are let me tell you: real people are being hurt. I tried to help an older guy the other day who was standing by the drug counter crying, just overwhelmed. Many elders are confused to start with, it’s almost sadistic to impose this on them.

Coming from the conservative side, I’d have a hard time disagreeing that this is the worst one. It was awful from my perspective even if it was implemented well.
